Hello to all our art and poetry friends! As the clocks are turned back and the weather begins to change dramatically, we look forward to the final art events of the year and to putting the finishing touches on the Twomey Gallery. We will be ready to provide private appointments in December (just in time for Christmas!) and will send out invitations for a "gallery warming" in early 2006. Look for a postcard in the mail with more information soon. James was awarded first place in photography at the Gallery North show and his photograph "Waiting for a Friend" appears in Nikon's Full Line Product Guide 2005/2006. In addition, he was interviewed by Herb Keppler for Popular Photography & Imaging magazine for an article on owners of the Nikon F6 film-based camera. Apparently there are still a few film photographers left! His final show of the year will be at the Art League of Long Island's December show at Elwood Middle School, East Northport on 12/3 & 12/4, 10 am to 5 pm. Victoria recently finished an exhibition at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Gallery in Huntington. The show featured her poetry and digital art in a show titled "How Melancholy, How Divine." An article about her artistic and poetic process appeared in the Long Island Journal in September. Finally, she is one of four artists invited to participate in an exhibition titled "Color Theory" which will run at the Art-trium Gallery in Melville from November 2005 through February 2006. |

Center By
Victoria Twomey from the center of every flower, everywhere something greater gazes out it looks up at night from the top of a rain forest canopy and
sees the crackling of its own reflection in the it looks down from the great height of a homeless dandelion bent
and battered, struggling to raise itself up from and sees a million stories beginning and ending looking out, from death adorned it
sees the faces of all who mourn through the flames the iris of its vision closing as each blossom is consumed no matter . . . your garden has a thousand eyes always waiting for the awakening - that exquisite moment when eyes widen in surprise to see in the shadowed heart of a simple flower a round and minute window behind which lies a sizzling galaxy crisscrossed with shooting stars © 2005 Victoria Twomey.
